FIRO – Element B
Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation – Behaviour
The FIRO-Element B questionnaire measures how a person typically behaves towards others and how that person would like others to behave towards them. We are all different, and the differences between people in an organisation have a massive impact on relationships and on the working culture.
Understanding these differences can dramatically increase your awareness of how you come across to others, how and why conflict can develop and how you can understand and manage your own needs when interacting others.
FIRO B brings depth to your understanding of what drives you and how you manage your hopes and fears. It will help you to improve relationships and increase your effectiveness. The FIRO model is based on three fundamental interpersonal needs, Inclusion, Control and Openness.
FIRO theory is one of the most comprehensive models of interpersonal relationships available. The theory was developed by Will Schutz, an academic psychologist, and first published in 1958.
FIRO B along with TDI profiling, forms the basis of your Personal Development Programme
